Helping Teachers and Students Thrive
Quality education is the foundation of a thriving democracy, yet Colorado’s commitment to funding education has historically ranked near the bottom among U.S. states. This underfunding leaves teachers struggling to afford to live in Colorado, forcing many to leave the profession and discouraging others from becoming educators. I have seen these challenges as a classroom volunteer and parent and I believe that our teachers and students deserve the support and resources to succeed.

This legislative session, the Colorado General Assembly made historic progress by eliminating the budget stabilization factor and passing a new school funding formula. These changes represent a critical step forward, but there's more work to do. I am committed to ensuring that funding directly benefits classrooms, secures higher pay for teachers and support staff, and provides safe, healthy learning environments. With one of the nation’s strongest economies, Colorado has the chance to prioritize our students and educators, empowering every community to thrive.
