Supporting Older Adults with Dignity & Care

I deeply understand the challenges older adults and their families face when navigating our state’s care system. When I was in college, I watched my mom, who did not have access to paid family leave, retire early to take care of my her mom. Years later, when my 91-year-old grandmother could no longer live safely alone at home, she moved in with my family. From arranging home health services and oxygen support to trying to find affordable, safe, and dignified assisted living options, we encountered one roadblock after another.

These experiences fueled my work on Northglenn City Council to establish one of the most generous municipal paid family leave programs in the state and continues to drive my commitment to advocating for policies that ensure our loved ones can age with dignity, independence, and respect.
